Resolved – Microsoft have confirmed after a period of monitoring service telemetry that the issue is now resolved.

Update

Status: Ongoing, some users have been able to get around this issue by opening www.office.com in a private browser window. Client apps are not affected

Solution: Microsoft have identified the root cause as a token generation issue. They are currently testing a solution.
